The Big Three Questions – Biblical Worldview
As we’ve noted in previous weeks, God has a lot to say about money. So, what are questions that we can ask ourselves to make sure that we’re striving to live by his principles?
1. How much is enough?
a. This question is the same as what we covered last week, but with a bit of a different spin. What is the proper Christian lifestyle? This isn’t spelled out clearly for us. It’s up to each household to pray and ask for God’s input on the proper lifestyle for our lives. Have you committed this question to prayer?
2. Who owns it?
a. Job 1:21 tells us, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return.” All of the blessings, talents, relationships, and material resources that we receive come from God. He is the ultimate giver and provider. If we begin to view money as resources that we manage on God’s behalf as opposed to being our own resources, would that change the way we manage them?
3. Is the next steward chosen and prepared?
a. When our time on Earth is over, the resources we manage don’t go with us. I once heard the quote, “Hearses don’t pull U-Hauls!” One of our last decisions as a manager of God’s resources is to choose the next steward. Is the steward that we’ve chosen well-prepared to handle God’s resources?
Moving forward, we’ll continue to dive into these principles and how we can apply them to our daily lives. We look forward to having you join us next week!
